Young Boats, Inc. was started by Robb Young in 1997 upon completion of graduate school at Florida Tech.
Robb received a Master’s Degree in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture with the desire to build attractive custom fishing boats that would appeal to the serious or professional angler who has an "eye" for quality and fishability.
Before building boats, The Young’s were avid fishermen and noticed that there was a niche for highly functional fishing boats that did not sacrifice quality, performance, or "good looks." Most boats on the market were a compromise, the attractive boats were not functional and the functional ones were not attractive or lacked in performance. Unlike a production boat company that produces many boats per year, we "build to order" and only sell factory direct. In this way, we have the ability to customize a boat for our discriminating owners. This custom building process gives our customers a sense of pride in owning a true "one of a kind" boat. As a custom manufacturer, Young Boats prides itself in meticulous attention to detail throughout the entire construction process. We have found there are no shortcuts in building quality custom boats; nevertheless, we feel the end product more than justifies the means of their development and construction.
