Young Boats: Where Business Is Personal

At this family business, we treat everyone like family.

Robb Young’s enthusiasm for fishing started in childhood, at his father’s bait and tackle shop. Later, in college, he also became intrigued with boat design. After graduating from Florida Tech in 1997 with a master’s degree in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture, Robb followed his passion and founded Young Boats. His original goal is still our goal today: to build—without compromise—beautiful, highly functional, best-in-class custom boats for avid anglers like Robb.

Unlike a production boat company, Young Boats builds to order. We are factory direct—no dealers, no middlemen. This enables us to customize each boat for our discerning clientele.

At Young Boats, we take customization to a whole new level. We start with the hull; the rest is up to the individual client. We invite each owner into the process, listening to their unique needs, wants, and dreams so that we can design to their specifications. We offer an unmatched build experience that, ultimately, gives our customer the pride of owning a true one-of-a-kind vessel. When we say we’ve never built the same boat twice, we mean it.

Young Boats is a family business—and we treat our clients like family. We never take shortcuts, always paying meticulous attention to detail. When we build a boat, we also build trust. Maybe that’s why over a third of our clients become repeat customers.

Personal Service. Personalized Builds.

Warranty

We take pride in our work, creating each custom vessel with quality craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. We go the extra mile through every step of the build to ensure that our boats will weather the elements with minimal problems. And we back every boat with a 10-year warranty.

Customization

When we say that we build to our clients’ specifications, we mean it. Our customization goes deeper than color and upholstery. We can tailor the cockpit to your measurements to ensure a comfortable seat. If your docking area has height or length restrictions, we can build to that. Our goal is to deliver a boat that’s a perfect fit for you and how you want to use it.

Service & Repair

Our team has the expertise to do overall maintenance and repair on any boat, including upgrades and restoration. However, when you own a Young Boat, you receive priority treatment. We always stand behind our workmanship and take care of our clients like family.

Robb Young

President

Robb founded the company in 1997. He enjoys working at Young Boats with his wife, Dante, every day.

It’s hard for him to pick a “favorite” Young model. Outside 70 miles, he likes the Young 34. Inside 70 miles, he likes the Young 27. He feels that both are a good fit for his family and do a lot of things well.

In his spare time, he loves to go offshore fishing, especially for grouper.

Dante Young

Vice President

A 23-year veteran of Young Boats, Dante’s favorite Young model is the Young 20.

She loves being able to work alongside her husband, Robb, to offer the best customer experience and create the best working environment possible.

In her off hours, Dante loves spending time with Robb and the rest of her family.

Jimmy Hanson

Lamination Manager

Jimmy has been at Young Boats for over 14 years. His favorite Young model is the SaltRiver 23.

“I enjoy building someone’s dream boat specially for them,” says Jimmy. “We know every boat by its owner’s name. That makes each build feel personal.”

In his spare time, he enjoys deer hunting.

Brad Carroll

Service Manager

Brad has worked at Young Boats for more than 7 years. His favorite part of the job is making customers happy.

As an in-shore fisherman in his off hours, he loves the SaltRiver 23 “because it can run shallow.”

Audrey Mahatcek

Office Manager

Audrey joined the Young Boats family more than 5 years ago. If she had to pick a favorite Young model, it would be the Young 27.

“I enjoy ordering and finding new parts that create better solutions,” she says.

She also enjoys being a mom!

Jarrod Anderson

Production Manager

Jarrod has been a part of the Young Boats family for over 8 years. More than anything, he enjoys interacting with his coworkers.

His pick is the Young 27. In his opinion, “It’s the most versatile.”

Jarrod’s favorite hobby is golf. “But I need to work on driving,” he says.

Jarrod Rodrick

Director of Operations

With over 13 years at Young Boats, Jarrod enjoys being hands on and working with newer custom products.

His favorite Young model is the SaltRiver 23, “because of how versatile it is.”

He loves fishing, especially hog fishing.

Ben Lancaster

New Build Coordinator

In his 2 years at Young Boats, Ben has enjoyed working with people and going to boat shows.

He favors the SaltRiver 23, citing that Young model as “the best for shallow, freshwater fishing.”

In his free time, Ben likes to attend concerts and listen to live music.
